Agnetha Borell
Agnetha Borell is a social worker with a master's degree in social work and basic psychotherapy training with a focus on CBT. She is also a licensed health and medical counsellor with over 30 years of experience in social work in regional operations (emergency, specialist and primary care) and municipal family counselling. In addition to her work at Jönköping University, Agnetha continues to work professionally in social work.
Since January 2025, Agnetha Borell has been programme director for the social work programme at the School of Health Sciences in Jönköping and teaches communication and psychology. Agnetha's main focus in her role as programme director is to develop the social work programme and contribute to its continued high quality. A high-quality social work education is required to ensure that students are equipped to meet the ever-increasing demands of professional social work.
Since 2022, Agnetha has also had an overall role at Jönköping University (JU) as a higher education pedagogy developer at the university's higher education pedagogy centre, Educate.
Within the framework of Educate and as programme manager for the social work programme, Agnetha works to create an inclusive university where students from different backgrounds are given opportunities to develop their skills, gain new insights and learn new skills. This work includes developing new higher education teaching methods and working methods that enable teachers to design and develop their courses optimally and create an inclusive and high-quality learning environment.
Agnetha has also served as coordinator for interprofessional learning from 2018 to 2024. This role included creating teaching opportunities where students from different programmes work together to solve common problems.
